2 Acrylamido 2 Methyl 1 Propanesulfonic Acid AMPS For Oilfield Chemistry
Introduction of AMPS
2-Acrylamido-2-Methylpropane Sulfonic Acid (AMPS) is a type of vinyl monomer containing sulfonic group, whose structure contains strong anionic water-soluble sulfonic groups, shielded amide groups and unsaturated double bond enabling AMPS to show an excellent overall performance, such as complexation, adsorption, bioactivity, surfactivity, hydrolytic stability and thermal stability. In aqueous solution, AMPS monomer exhibits a very slow hydrolysis rate, and its sodium aqueous solution has an excellent anti-hydrolysis performance when the PH value is higher than 9. Under acidic conditions, the anti-hydrolysis performance of AMPS homopolymer is far better than polyacrylamide.

|Melting point(℃)||≥185 (decomposition)||≥185 (decomposition)|
|Chroma (25% water solution) ,Co-Pt||≤10||≤20|
Due to good nature of both copolymerization and homopolymerization, AMPS is widely used in wide range of industries, such as oilfield chemistry, water-treatment, synthetic fibers, printing and dyeing, plastic, paper-making, water-adsorbent coatings, biomedical, magnetic materials and cosmetics.
